Dr. Tom Copeland, professor of psychology and director of the HSU Honors Program, holds a B.S. in psychology from Texas A&M University, an M.A. in religious education from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary, and an Ed.D. in educational psychology with a minor in higher education administration from Texas Tech University.
Copeland is a native west Texan, having grown up in Levelland, and has been on faculty at Hardin-Simmons since 1994. Prior to coming to HSU, he was the dean of students at Wayland Baptist University in Plainview, Texas.
His teaching and research interests include human sexuality, the integration of psychology and theology, and the history and philosophy of psychology.
Copeland is also a Licensed Professional Counselor and Licensed Marriage and Family Counselor.
